As wedding photographers in Wädenswil - Our tips for getting married

As wedding photographers, we love to always discover new things and shoot in new places. It inspires us, and allows us to continually evolve and improve photographically. But sometimes it's also quite nice to photograph in our own city. We have been living in Wädenswil since 2005, we know practically every corner here and have also often been booked as wedding photographers in Wädenswil. There are also some beautiful places to get married in Wädenswil.

We would be happy to give you some tips if you are still looking for a beautiful location for your wedding ceremony or if you need inspiration for the location of your bridal photo shoot.

Wedding venues for civil weddings in Wädenswil

In Wädenswil there are two beautiful historic wedding venues: the regular wedding room in the Stadthaus and the - for an additional charge - Gessner room in the Kirchgemeidehaus in Rosenmatt. In both places we were already allowed to accompany some weddings.

Town Hall Wädenswil

A very nice room, relatively bright and well maintained. It can accommodate about 10 guests plus of course the bride and groom and witnesses. The townhouse is very centrally located and offers - depending on the time - enough parking spaces for the guests nearby. Vis à Vis the city park invites to a small aperitif afterwards.

Wedding room in the parish hall Rosenmatt

For a small surcharge, on selected days the civil wedding ceremony is also possible in the Gessner room in the Villa Rosenmatt. The high ceiling of the room and the large windows create a beautiful festive atmosphere. Directly in front of the villa is the Rosenmatt Park, which is perfect for an aperitif when the weather is nice. Alternatively, the hall adjacent to the wedding room offers enough space for larger parties and is not a bad alternative even in bad weather.

The Kirchgemeindehaus also serves as an aperitif location for the church wedding, as it belongs to the Reformed Church. It also offers many beautiful corners and rooms for the bride and groom shooting, in case of bad weather or serves as a getting-ready location for the bride.

As wedding photographers, we were also already allowed to create a wedding reportage several times in the Reformed Church of Wädenswil as well as the Catholic Church. Both churches are very large and offer enough space for the guests. Alternatively, the Roman Catholic Chapel St. Anna on the Wädenswilerberg offers a great alternative.

Reformed Church

The reformed church is very large, bright and spacious. Ideal for taking pictures. However, since the church is built very wide, 200 wedding guests also seem very little. So the church is ideal for a lot of guests or if the bride and groom like it bright and spacious. The gallery offers a great view of the action and is also a popular place for us as wedding photographers to create great photos from a distance.

St. Mary's Catholic Church

This church is also very large and offers by far enough space for all your wedding guests. The décor is very simple and restrained, offering a lot of design freedom. The slightly elevated choir offers an ideal view of the bride and groom, but is relatively narrow. The beautiful entrance area from the outside shows a fantastic portal and invites you to take a unique wedding photo.

At a wedding - whether civil or church - of course the bride and groom shooting may not be missing. In the Wädenswil area there are many great places for this, we have listed a few.

Halbinsel Au

The Halbinsel Au with the castle park is almost part of the open-air photo studio for us. A perfect location for a longer bridal couple shooting with many different places like the castle, a bridge, Lake Zurich and of course a lot of green. We have already photographed over 20 wedding couples at this location and know it like the back of our hand.

Wädenswil Castle

A lesser known location is Wädenswil Castle. Nestled in the hillside above Wädenswil with a beautiful view of the entire Lake Zurich. The castle is located directly in front of our house and is also used by us for small portrait sessions.
